Required Permissions

To ensure Moonlit functions smoothly and provides the best possible music experience, the following permissions are required when inviting the bot to your server:

Core Permissions

• View Channels — Allows Moonlit to access voice and text channels

• Send Messages — Enables the bot to communicate with users

• Read Message History — Ensures command responses and queues work correctly

• Embed Links — Used for sending rich, formatted messages and embeds

Voice Permissions

• Connect — Allows Moonlit to join voice channels

• Speak — Enables audio playback in voice channels

Management & Interaction

• Add Reactions — For interactive controls and reaction-based features

• Manage Messages — Lets Moonlit remove its messages or handle queue updates

• Manage Channels — Used when handling temporary voice channels (if enabled)

• Use External Emojis — Allows use of emoji reactions from other servers

Optional (Recommended)

• Administrator — For full functionality and to prevent permission-related issues
